About Me

Hello! I’m Maya Wahba, LMFT #156773 and I am so grateful to be helping individuals and families navigate life's challenges. I am passionate about helping adolescents and adults cultivate emotional balance, improve relationships, and foster self-acceptance.

My passion for therapy began when I saw firsthand how transformative it can be. I earned my Masters of Science Degree in Clinical Psychology at California State University, Northridge. I previously received my Bachelor of Art Degree in Sociology at California Polytechnic University of San Luis Obispo. During this time I volunteered with adolescents in juvenile detention centers and domestic violence shelters  providing mindfulness based rehabilitation services. I have worked with individuals from diverse backgrounds to support their mental health journey. I have worked in community non-profit and outpatient Dialectical Behavioral Therapy programs in which I practiced adherent DBT with adolescents, families and adults. I received training in trauma informed psychotherapy and integrated evidence-based approaches to my therapy practice.

My goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you feel heard and supported. My approach is depth-focused yet practical, balancing exploration with actionable strategies to support meaningful growth and healing. If you're ready to take the next step in your journey, I'm here to help. Feel free to reach out for a consultation—I look forward to working with you!

What Can I Expect in Therapy

This therapy will help you to develop emotional resilience and self compassion. I provide a safe place to work through complicated issues. I work with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, and emotion dysregulation.

I use a blend of, internal family systems (IFS), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness,  exposure and response prevention (ERP) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) to tailor sessions to your needs.

Therapy is not about having all the answers right away, it’s about gaining insights, developing coping skills, and finding new ways to navigate life’s challenges. Some sessions may feel light, while others may bring up deeper emotions, but every step is part of your healing journey.
